- A comprehensive school in the UK, is a
- secondary school which admits pupils
- of all abilities, and therefore without any
- academic selection procedure. Most secondary
- education in the USA and the USSR have always
- been comprehensive, but most of the Western
- European countries, including France and the
- UK, have switched from a selective to a
- comprehensive system within the last 20
- years.
